In 1984 Doctor Thomas Lam graduated from the University of NSW. He attained FRACS in General Surgery in 1990, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 1996. He has a comprehensive practice in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery but with a special interest in breast reconstruction after mastectomy for cancer and has performed over 1000 of these cases.

Doctor Lam is a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and has taught many local Plastic Surgery Advanced Trainees and overseas Plastic Surgery Fellows in these techniques.

Doctor Lam has published a number of original scientific papers on breast reconstruction and is also currently completing a Doctoral thesis on the special topic of Prosthetic breast reconstruction and the impact of radiotherapy.
