The14th Pink Ribbon Ride observed with about 1100 bikes!!

pinkride2014It was a spectacular event on 12th of October with about 1100 bikes to celebrate Pink Ribbon Ride 2014. The Ride started from car park at Club Punchbowl and ended at Warragamba Dam.
The Ride was organized with very genuine cause of raising fund and awareness for Breast Cancer.

Breast Care Nurse Practicum

The 2nd Breast Care Nurse Practicum for 2014 was held from the 15th to the 19th September at the BCI.Three nurses attended the 5 days of lectures and clinical observership including time in operating suite and Radiotherapy. During the week the NSW Breast Cancer Interest Group meeting was held at the Lifehouse Centre at RPA.

The nurses had the opportunity to spend time sharing and discussing issues of interest to other breast care nurses from around Sydney and surrounds.
The week is made possible by the ongoing support and enthusiasm that the BCI and other Cancer care staff show to each of the nursing groups that attend the practicum 3 times a year.

Life Saving Breast Screening Van on the Move

Women in Greater Western Sydney now have access to a free life-saving health service closer to home since the launch of the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI) Sunflower Clinic BreastScreen NSW van. NSW Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health, Melinda Pavey launched the BreastScreen NSW van with Dr Geoff Lee MP, Member for Parramatta in December 2011. This service is now providing potentially life-saving screening to women across Western Sydney.

Sydney Congress a Great Success!

Over 900 delegates attended the 2012 Sydney International Breast Cancer Congress at Darling Harbour from 23-26 October. They were joined on Thursday and Friday by over 600 consumers for Breast Cancer Network Australia's conference "Strength to Strength".

New mobile screening van to be launched

Ray of Hope vision for women of Western Sydney: the new $1 million mobile BCI Sunflower Clinic BreastScreen Van to be launched on 13th December.

The Ray of Hope Committee would like to announce the construction of the new BCI Sunflower Clinic BreastScreen Mobile Van is nearing completion.  The van is due to be officially launched in Western Sydney on 13th December, and will commence service in mid January 2012.
