Dr Thomas Lam is a graduate of UNSW in 1984 and attained FRACS in General Surgery in 1990 and subsequently in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 1996. He has a comprehensive practice in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery but with a special interest in breast reconstruction after mastectomy for cancer and has performed over 1000 of these cases. He is also a Clinical lecturer at the Sydney University and has taught many local Plastic Surgery Advanced Trainees and overseas Plastic Surgery Fellows in these techniques. Dr Lam has published a number of original scientific papers on breast reconstruction and is also currently completing a Doctoral thesis on the special topic of Prosthetic breast reconstruction and the impact of radiotherapy.
