Breast Screening

BreastScreen NSW is a FREE service which aims to reduce deaths from breast cancer through early detection. It is a service available to all women aged 40 years and over, but in particular those aged 50-74 years.

A screening mammogram can detect breast cancer when it is very small, and long before you or your doctor would be able to see or feel any changes to your breast.

Did you know that 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime? It is also important to remember that 9 out of 10 women who develop breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease. Having regular mammograms with BreastScreen NSW is the most effective way of detecting breast cancer early, when more treatment options are available, and when your chances of survival from this disease are the greatest.

BreastScreen NSW Sydney West has BCI Sunflower Clinics offering FREE mammograms in the intimate apparel departments of MYER stores at Blacktown, Castle Hill, Parramatta and Penrith, as well as in Auburn, Blue Mountains and Mt Druitt hospitals. We also have mobile vans that visit various venues across Western Sydney, as well as Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains areas.

A GP referral is not needed to make a booking with BreastScreen NSW, you simply need to call 13 20 50 to make your appointment. Find your nearest BreastScreen NSW location here.
